LifeLabs Genetics provides customized laboratory testing of human samples as a service to clients working in academic research, family health clinics, government agencies, pharmaceutical and diagnostics companies, medical device manufacturers, and contract research organizations.

Projects range from single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) based panel testing and whole exome and genome sequencing for research, all the way to preferred provider agreements for a specific type of genetic test, for a certain population and a certain amount of time.

Customizable Project Options

At LifeLabs Genetics, we provide ethical, clinical genetic testing to the highest standard. While aspects of our testing approach must be upheld to maintain standards, we can customize other steps and elements of the process (e.g., forms, data file formats, reports, translations) to meet your specific needs.

The LifeLabs Genetics team will work with you to define and execute customized preferred provider collection, testing, reporting, and research programs. We regularly provide support for specific terms/durations, predefined batches of tests, and by set quotas. All contracts are built around your goals, patients, projects, and research.

Collection and Logistic Support

LifeLabs Genetics clients have access to one of the country’s largest sample collection and logistic networks, including:

Account Management

A dedicated project team efficiently and effectively delivers your study milestones on target and on time. The clinical value of information derived from a genetic test depends greatly on the collection and handling of the specimens submitted for analysis. Correct patient preparation and proper specimen collection, processing, storage, and transportation are essential for accuracy. LifeLabs Genetics is committed to minimizing errors and delays in sample collection and preparation of specimens for transport.

Testing, Data Management, and Reporting

Sample analysis is performed to mutually acceptable, Canadian standards and metrics on regularly maintained and calibrated equipment. Whether we perform the test in-house in Toronto or work on your behalf with our international partner laboratories, we offer exceptional testing turnaround times to meet your study needs.

Applying thoughtful bioinformatics and clinical data management (CDM) strategies leads to high-quality, reliable, and statistically sound data. Our bioinformatics and data management team members are actively involved in all stages of your project, from inception to completion. Our data management team will create the database design, data specifications annotation, data-entry data validation, test coding, data extraction, and finalize database locking based on your study needs. We can customize reports for target audiences and deliver them in multiple electronic file formats.
